IMMI 344E Question 1

Hi all,
I am completing IMMI 344E and on Question 1, it asks if you are found ineligible to sponsor if you want to:
1) withdraw sponsorship application or
2) proceed with application for permanent residence

If we select 2, does this mean, if for whatever I am not eligible to sponsor, my husbands application will continue on as an application without sponsorship?

If you select (2) then they will continue to examine your husband whether you are found eligible to sponsor or not, but the examination is guaranteed to fail without an eligible sponsor.

I'm honestly not sure why (2) is even an option (unless they make a profit on processing, which I doubt considering the hours and resources required).

Hi

If you select option 2, your app will still be refused; it will just take longer and cost you more money. That option basically exists for sponsors who know that they don't qualify but are requesting that the app continue to be processed based on Humanitarian and Compassionate grounds.
