OK OK OK, if you got the same problem here is the SOLUTION: first page of the 5709 form select: "Apply for a study permit for the first time or extend my study permit"
yes kinda doesn't make sense but apparently that's the only way to get through it ;)

Hi guys, I had the same error message pop up every time while the expiry date is exactly the same when I was trying to apply for an open work permit extension, and I just figured out the SOLUTION.
In the first question: I am applying for one or more of the following, you must NOT tick the option of "Restore my status as a worker"
I only ticked "Apply for a work permit with the same employer," and it has finally been uploaded successfully!

Hi there,

I got this error when I click to submit my IMM5710 Application for an extension for my PGWP:

  • Your status expiry date in the answer you provided previously does not correspond to the Restoration in your form. Modify your answers or the value in your form.

Anyone had any issue like this? I just recently changed my passport as well and using that in the for; and I double checked all the dates and everything matched up and accurate so I'm not sure what is the issue!

There is a question in the initial form you fill in in GCKey, asking "Do you wanna restore your stay in Canada" if you have given yes as an answer it wont let you submit the form, so give the answer as no, if your permit has not expired yet and try uploading again!!

Hi guys

I had the same issue too,
Error: We couldn't upload your file. Error Description: Your status expiry date in the answer you provided previously does not correspond to the Restoration in your form. Modify your answers or the value in your form. meaning

was the error I kept facing, so as it's said in the first comment, if you already holding a work permit (in my case open work) which is still valid, choose the first option on top left "apply with same employer"
the other thing was cache of adobe software which was giving me hard time so I uninstalled the software and removed every bite of the cache, then did the whole thing again and worked. I think It took me 6 hours to be done.

I hope nobody will face this again as it's confusing and stressful. these things supposed to be easy for all the users, not this complicated. also beware of the website glitches too, which you may get a same error for some good amount of time.(up to few days)

……………………..
hello , there lot of diff between restoration and extension of status, so choose applying with same employer or new work permit in first section of right mark in application form. The it will accept it.

What you should do is go back to the questions at the beginning and in the question: Does your family member want to restore their status in Canada? you must say no. I did that and then when I uploaded the form the system allowed me to upload it.
Thanks a lot. It worked for me

Hello all,

As someone who was looking to extend their open work permit (applying a few weeks before expiry date of current work permit) through the IMM5710 form, the option that allowed me to move forward was only selecting "Apply for a work permit with the same employer." So if this is your current situation, I recommend only checking that option off. I believe the "Restore my status as a worker" option DOES NOT apply, IF your current work permit is still valid. After doing this, the pesky upload error message disappeared and my IMM5710 was successfully uploaded. Hope this helps someone who is in a similar situation!
