IMM5540 help?

This has been troubling me for a long time. I'm a naturalized Canadian Citizen. in the form IMM5540, Question #9, it asks

-Are you a naturalized Canadian or Permanent resident of Canada, I said YES
But then it asks "on what date did you become a permanent resident?" Do I write the date I first stepped into Canada? (The date stamped on my entry for the first time? or do I put when I obtained the Canadian Citizenship?

Because what makes this more confusing is the question after it asks, "Were you yourself sponsored to come to Canada?" I also said YES. But then also it asks "WHEN"?? Do I also put the date I first entered Canada or is there another date I'm not aware of that I should be putting here? Mind you, I was 10 years old :/
Please someone help me understand what dates goes where. Thank you in advance

This is explained pretty clearly in the guide:

Question 9

Check ‘‘Yes’’ or ‘‘No’’ to indicate if you are a naturalized Canadian or a permanent resident.

If you answer ‘‘Yes’’, provide the date on which you became a permanent resident.

Question 10

Check ‘‘Yes’’ or ‘‘No’’ to indicate if you were sponsored to come to Canada.

If you answer ‘‘Yes’’, provide the date on which you became a permanent resident and the type of sponsorship (i.e. spousal, parents, dependent child, etc.)

Thank you Canuck for your reply... however, my confusion in this question is not knowing the difference between Permanent Residence and Naturalized Citizen in which I am. So my question is in Number 9, I would put the date in which I became a Canadian Citizen? or do I put the date I arrived to Canada?

And since I was sponsored to come to Canada, in Number 10, do I also put the date I entered into Canada?

So I guess the bigger question is, IS THE ENTRY DATE TO CANADA ALSO THE DATE I BECAME A PERMANENT RESIDENT AND ALSO THE DATE I WAS SPONSORED?

Not sure where the confusion is coming from. Both questions are asking for the date you became a permanent resident, which has nothing to do with when you became a naturalized Canadian citizen. You need to put the date you landed in Canada as a PR, which will be on your COPR.

I don't have a COPR. I was 10. Lol that was 23 years ago. I do however have the passport still with the date stamped of the entry when I came into Canada. Would that date count? I know, I seem to be very stupid at this. I just didn't know how the system works; like, is the date of entry to Canada the same as date of becoming PR?

Most likely, yes, that is the date you became a PR. If you don't have the documentation anymore, then put that entry date and explain the situation on a separate sheet.

Thank you so much for your help, Canuck. I appreciate it. I feel so stupid asking this from the start. But I just got confused I guess when I saw both 9 & 10 having the same answer

It can be a very confusing process. Don't feel stupid, we have all had our braindead moments when filling out the app.

These two questions are also giving me a headache. I tried calling CIC all day this week, but I kept getting the phone loop through their prompt.

Can anyone verify that the land date is the same date as becoming a PR?

Sorry for bumping an old thread.

Yeah that was long ago lol. She's already been here a year and got our baby last month lol.
But to answer for you, you pretty much have to drop down the date when you entered Canada (depending on your status) Most of the time, the date you entered Canada was the date you became a PR yourself. Unless you have a refugee status or some other sort. Other than that, it is actually literally what they ask for.
I hope this helped
