IMM5533 Proof of Contact Maximum of 10 pages

Hi Forum,

My wife and I have a quick question about form IMM5533. Specifically, about Maximum of 10 pages for Proof of Contact.

We have been in relationship for 5 years so our we can provide 5,000 pages of communications because of how much my wife and I talk . Well jokes aside, we want to know what would be the best way to put together those pages and what should we include in them.

Also:

What font and font size we should use?

Should we only use only letter sized pages or maybe legal?

Should margins be normal or we can narrow them?

We were in a similar situation, my husband and I have been in a relationship since 2008, so obviously had a LOT of communication between the two of us! We tried to choose a variety of things talking about important events. My husband put together the document and copied in the earliest email he could find from me, dated 2009 (I was sending him a job listing), then an email conversation about us looking for our first apartment together, a screenshot of a Facebook message from when we were living together about getting a plumber to come in, and then he exported the last 6 months of our Whatsapp convos (which amounted to 800+ pages!!!) and picked out some conversations we'd had about important things -- like when either of us was coming out to visit, me buying a car, and various bits of us organising some of our wedding stuff. He just pasted them into a standard Word doc, pretty sure everything was in size 11 font or something, and he put a header above each little "section" to explain what the context of the conversation was.

They want 10 pages, so may be spread out your 5 years over the 10 pages. So, 2 pages for each year. For example, you started talking in July 2014 - so give them:

• 1 page of convo from July 2014
• 1 page from January 2015
• 1 page from July 2015
• 1 page from January 2016
• 1 page from July 2016
• 1 page from January 2017
• 1 page from July 2017
• 1 page from January 2018
• 1 page from July 2018
• 1 page from January 2019

Also, depending on how you communicate... if you use Facebook messenger, you can 'export' your conversation > Go to Facebook Settings > Your Facebook Information > Access Your Information >>> then you can download your convo > copy a few bunch of messages and paste them nicely into a Word Document

You can do the same for Whatsapp.

What font and font size we should use?

I think it is safe to use Arial size 10. That's what we used for our one and it was fine. No complains from IRCC

Should we only use only letter sized pages or maybe legal?

Probably Letter, because that's the standard in Canada I think? Most (if not all) of your docs should be Letter sized I think. Looks good and easy to put the docs together using paper clips. If there are so many different sizes of papers, it could become messy.

Should margins be normal or we can narrow them?

Narrow them down a little bit. We used 0.5" and it was fine
