Hi guys,

I'm a Canadian citizen, sponsoring my spouse. Right now I am filling out IMM5409 on her behalf and there's a question that asks, "Do you have family members or other relatives (i.e. aunt, uncle, cousin etc.) living in Canada?

Do her in-laws count? I'm from BC and my mum dad and sister live there right now.

I appreciate your help :) Thank you

I have in-laws in Canada too, I didn't include them there. I think "relatives" refers to uncles, sisters, parents, etc.

They are referring solely to your spouse's family, in-laws aren't included.

Do i need to include my mom's cousin in the application?we called it 2nd generation relatives. Thank you

Are you really referring to IMM5409? That form is a "Statutory Declaration of a Common Law Union". I'm not seeing that question on that form. If you're referring to IMM5406 . . . then "no" you don't.
