IMM1344e Question 6

Hi,

I am a permanent resident and I have an ongoing family class sponsorship application to sponsor my spouse. While the application is in process we had a new born child who is born outside of Canada and I am adding our child into the application. So IRCC asked me to upload a new IMM1344e form. In the IMM1344e Sponsorship Eligibility section question 6 it is asked "Have you submitted a previous application in respect of a final decision has not been made for the person being sponsored and their family members"? So in this case do I need to answer "Yes' as I am sponsoring the child’s mother (my spouse), which is still under process and I am adding my child into that application?

My sense is that you would answer "no". The only situation I would see a "yes" would make sense is if you are sending a new application. In your case, this isn't a new application at all, you're just updating one form of an existing application.
