IMM 5490 Question 30

[New Wife]

I recently got married and my husband and I have applied for our sponsorship and permanent residency already. I've been approved as his sponsor (September 2010) and now our applications have been forwarded to his embassy for processing.

At the time we filed, all our information was 100% correct. Question 30 on IMM 5490 asked if I gave him financial support and I wasn't so we said no. However after we applied and after we sent off our papers some unexpected medical issues came up with my husband and he needed some help, so I sent him some money to look after these expenses.

Will this cause us a problem? When we signed and mailed our papers there was no support at all, now after the fact there has been some.

What should we do?

I wouldn't worry too much about it. In case they ask for additional information or proof of relationships, I would send a note and a copy of the bank transfers/receipts.

Keep the proof you sent him money. At the interview he can show it to the visa officer. Usually monetary support is seen as a good thing - you are helping your spouse in a time of need, thus showing it is a genuine marriage.
