    Thread for September 2010 Applicants

Thanks dlmt I know that there is still a ways to go. according to ecas it says that once they have received your medicals that a decision has been made and we will be informed in writing. Does that mean what I think it means? It can't just be that easy? right? I know every embassy does...

    Thread for September 2010 Applicants

Finally some ecas news. After so many months my husband has finally shown up on ecas. They are confirming that they started to process his application back on October 7, 2010 and they are also confirming that they received his medicals. Doesn't say when the meds were received, just that they...

My file number changed from a Bxxxx to an Fxxxxx

I talked to immigration here in Canada today and they told me that the "F" number is not something that Canada uses. It would be unique to what ever embassy you are dealing with. Your "B" number should still be active and in use. If you think you are having problems, or anyone, the suggestion...

My file number changed from a Bxxxx to an Fxxxxx

No your UCI number is an 8 digit number. At least ours is, and I would imagine all UCI numbers are universal. If your B number is not working you might want to try and call immigration and tell them you are having problems. They may be able to help you a bit more.

    status of e-case

I would not worry. E-case has been having some issues like this. I don't think anything has happened at all, just a computer glitch. If you are overly worried you can call Immigration and ask them about what is going on with e-cas. Keep in mind E-case if highly unreliable. Frustrating but...

how long for first stage approval?

Do not worry. The 38 days starts from when your file was received at CIC-M and includes the time to get your letter in the mail. It is just 30 days for you right now AND remember that Government offices have been closed some week days this week, and next because the holiday's landed on the...

    Sponsored spouse/partner questionnaire

You will need to prove to the best of your ability what kind of funds and when your husband sent you money. If you have western union records, or your husband has you'll need those. Typically your explanation of these questions will require you to write on an additional piece of paper, so just...

    Sponsored spouse/partner questionnaire

The forms can be overwhelming I know. Simply put have you traveled to see spouse? If yes YOU have traveled then you provide them with the dates, copies of boarding passes, stamps in your passport, etc, for each time YOU have traveled to see your spouse. If you haven't, for example because of...

My file number changed from a Bxxxx to an Fxxxxx

My husband received his UCI # and his F# when he got is AOR letter. It was at the top of the page. If you have your AOR letter maybe check to see if it was listed there. That is my best suggestion. Or if it's your application then try to contact the embassy you are going through, there...

My file number changed from a Bxxxx to an Fxxxxx

I don't think you should worry. What you need to make sure you have is your UCI number. Find that it should have been sent to you, sign into ecas with that UCI number and you should be able to see your information.

    ECAS Issue

Thanks leroadrunner for your suggestion. My husband and I have tried on two different computers, two different browsers and we both get the same screen. I think it just must be ecas and not us....at least that is what I am hoping. But thanks again for your suggestions! We'll keep trying.

is any one in this forum who sponsored a spouse more then once....

I agree worrying will only make things worse. I would not worry if you haven't heard back from CIC-M yet. It has been less that 30 days. Average time is 30-40 days to process your sponsorship part. And with the holiday's it might be delayed a little because the government offices are closed...

For over 2 months??? 'Code 12 - file is under review'

That is interesting. My suggestion, if what you are experiencing is out of the norm for your embassy, is to contact your local MP and have them write a letter on your behalf asking the embassy for further details on your application. We had to do that with my husband's application. The MP...

    ECAS Issue

Thanks so much rubyalabar. Good to know ecas is not so reliable. If only there was a better system. Best of luck to you as well! :)

    ECAS Issue

No it doesn't say anything. Just has his name all in bold letters, and nothing underneath to click on. A big empty space, and then the box opting out of seeing anything on line. But nothing else about his status.

For over 2 months??? 'Code 12 - file is under review'

I would not worry about it too much. 2 months is a very short period of time. Some embassies make you wait 6-9 months to hear anything. If you look online the Beijing office is averaging about 4 months to process about 80% of the applications. So it looks like you are right on track. If...

    ECAS Issue

Has anyone else been having problems with ecas lately? Just recently we received my husbands AOR and have been notified that his application went in process. When we log into ecas with his info, his name appears....and under it says "click on underlined portion to see your status" or something...

    Bring Forward Date Questions....

Thank you waitingintz. I was not sure how the BF dates worked. Seems like lots of people have questions about it. Your information was very helpful. So I guess until the embassy requests something from my husband, like an interview, or his passport, etc, we wouldn't have a BF date? They...

    Guatemalan marriage legal in Ontario?

Are you planning to apply here in Canada when you come back, or are you apply from out of the country? This is my experience....we were married in the Dominican Republic. At the civil ceremony were we issued a general marriage license, not the official document. We had to file and apply for...

    Guatemalan marriage legal in Ontario?

All you need to do is contact the Guatemalan Consulate General here in Canada. They should have a website. They will be able to give you all of the details. Remember to bring back with you - of possible - an original copy of the marriage certificate. You will need to have it translated into...
