On my wife's form imm 5481

3. your net personnel income

Plus dates preceding this application

Do we out dates from January 2012 to January 2013

If I'm sending the application in February 2013

As she's not filled for the 2012 tax year how much should she write in the Net wage?

She should calculate and enter her "net personal income for the 12-month period preceding the date of your application". For eg. if your application is going to be dated February 1st, she enters income from February 1, 2012 to January 31, 2013.

Quote taken from IMM5481 Rev. 04-12 E

application will be sent in Febuary 2013

we will have signed all forms around 23rd January and send around the end of January or start of febuary

so this is the correct dates then? February 1, 2012 to January 31, 2013.

To be "very particular" yes, but with the dates you have mentioned and put appropriately on the form, in that case . . . you/she will be fine! There's really no income requirement for spousal sponsorship anyway. Only a check on whether the sponsor has been on social assistance or not.

In our case, we went right up to the "pay period ending" date on the last pay statement received before the date on our signed and dated application. That was the 15th of the Month, so went from the 16th of the month 2011 to the 15th of the month 2012. If you're signing and dating on Jan 23, you're likely only off by ONE pay period, which is why I think you'll be fine.

Your date is perfect from 1 january 2012 to 31st december 2012

as long as you sign that application before 31st january its perfect as it says 12 months preciding the date on the application.

Regarding the Sponsor's obligations (My Canadian wife of 13 years is my sponsor. We live in London, UK and are applying from outside Canada)... One of the key items we have to prove is that neither my wife or myself will have recourse to public funds when we settle in Canada. Currently, neither my wife or I have job offers from Canada. I have a very good salary here and my wife makes a modest income working 3 days a week in Business Travel. We own our own home here and have some savings. I am just wondering, what applicants in our position (Spousal Sponsor applying from outside Canada) must supply in order to satisfy the necessary financia requirements?

Don't worry. We are in the same position - both in the UK, no jobs lined up in Canada. House in Canada, no house here.

I would not worry too much about it. We did not include anything about savings other than in the section that asked for income received over the last year from them.

Under plans to re-establish we included an exploratory e-mail using network contacts about jobs. We stated that we had looked on job websites but that the sponsor will apply for work closer to the time of moving looking from the UK initially then in Canada if required. The applicant will not apply until after receiving PR (this was included as the email included an enquiry from both of us).

We received approval to sponsor within 21 days which includes the holidays just gone. The day the file was opened it was authorised.

Do any of you guys applying as a Spousal Sponsor from the Uk know how much time you are given from receiving your visa in the UK to land in Canada? I am a bit concerned because we want to sell our home before moving, but I don't want to put it on the market until closer to receiving permission to live and work in Canada.

I may be wrong but I think you have a year from your medical. Britishexpats forum has quite a bit of info. Once landed you can come back to tie things up in the UK hence the form of goods to follow. Looking at the London spreadsheet gives you an idea and you can always just be up front with buyers. My parents sold a house and had buyers hanging on two years until my parents finally found a house they wanted.

Yes, similarly for us. Our visa expires simultaneously with the 'medical' submitted i.e. one year from the date of medical.
