You can write a letter explaining the situation. There's been a few people who did the same thing.

Parker is right, worst case scenario if they dnt understand your explanation on the note that u send they might call you in for an interview, thats all about it.

yes write a letter stating the situation
my spouses father left him at a young age and he wasnt on the birth certificate either.
so we wrote an extra little note telling why there was no father.

:)

where exactly should i attach the note...and what should the note say exactly....any format in particular? thank you all for your input....i appreciate ALOT....

We had an immigration consultant do ours.
And all she wrote was
"No father on birth certificate, father did not recognize ______ at birth."

That's pretty much all she wrote. Although I'm not sure if she wrote it right on the app when she filled it our online. Or if she wrote it on a seperate paper...

but in my place ....i included my step father name (deceased) on my marriage certificate...wouldnt that be a problem....stupid me...but i just really wanted a him to be part of that significant part of my life, even tho he wasnt in flesh...should i get the note notarize?

add a word document and place it at the end of the forms
And in the space provided on the form write (see attatchment A-1 or whatever you wish to label it.)
Than in the word document say that your birth father did not recognize you at birth, and was never apart of your life, hense why he is not on your birth certificate. And say that your mother married _____ in this year (or if there common-law than that instead of married) and since than has became your stepfather and very close to you. And this is why you put him on your marriage certificate, because he was your father figure since you were ____ age. :)

I don't think it has to be notarized, you are only explaining something small.
They should understand, I'm sure this has happened to someone else before.
Personally I wouldn't notarize it. But iff you are worried than there is no harm in doing that :)
