Folks,
I am hoping someone can help with these questions that I can't figure out what to do about:
1. My sister's birth certificate is in Arabic and my father has got it translated. The translator affixed his stamp and name etc. I am just wondering what is a certified translator though for CIC purposes? Or should it be certified by the Foreign Office(in Pakistan)?
2. My mother changed her last name to my father's first name after marriage and that's how it was entered on her national id card, passport and other documents. 2 questions related to this:
- there is as such no document for a formal name change as there is no formal process to do that especially when the name change is because of marriage(this is in Pakistan if that helps). Should I write a letter explaining that or just let it pass through until I get queried by CIC?
- my birth certificate has my mother's maiden name but my sister who is a dependent applicant has my mother's name as it is listed after marriage(with my father's first name as her last name). I am thinking this could be flagged as inconsistent. Any thoughts? Or should I also explain this in a letter?
Thanks!
