Hello seniors:
I just landed few days ago, I have fiance at back home, I have a plan to get my PR card and go back to my home country and get married.
my question is how can i sponsor my husband, I don't have a job and income in canada ,I don't want leave him alone in back home. I have to stay with him at back home.
what is my options to bring him in canada, while i am with him in our homeland?
Is this correct that, if I don't live in canada for period of 3 years my PR will be expired and no valid anymore.
Please help me to make a right move .
thanks very much!

You need to be in canada I believe 2 out of 5 years to keep your pr yes.

I don't know if you can sponsor someone after having just got pr yourself. I believe there is a waiting period.

He can come to canada as a visitor depending on where you are from.

You need to give us more details. Where are you from? Are you here under family class pr yourself? Have you been sponsored? These things will help us guide you.

If you're a permanent residence, you must live in Canada to sponsor someone. You can visit, but you can't live overseas. Visit generally means 2-3 weeks at the most.

You aren't required to have an income to sponsor, but you must have a plan. If you have family that will help, they can write letters showing they will let you live with them, etc. You can also show you've applied for jobs, tell CIC about your education and work experience and your plan to work. Your husband will also have the chance on his form to explain his education and intended occupation in Canada. The only thing CIC really cares about is you aren't on social assistance and your husband won't be either. Just remember, if he does go on social assistance in the first three years in Canada, you will have to repay it! (It's in the forms you must sign.)

As mention by Gary, we need to know your home country (and your husband's). How you got your PR is helpful, but not required.

If you're from Iran, I assume your soon-to-be husband will also be from Iran. If that's the case, you better make sure to have a LOT (and I do mean a LOT) of proof to demonstrate a real, genuine relationship.

You won't be able to go back home and live with him. As a non-citizen, you have to remain inside Canada to sponsor someone (as others have already mentioned). You can try to get him to Canada on a visitor's visa, but being from Iran, the chances of that are right around zero. Your visa office will be in Turkey, which means an approximate wait time of 16 months. But since you're a female sponsoring a male from Iran, believe me when I tell you that it will be longer. The background checks and security screenings will be intense - so your husband will need to have a completely clean record, in addition to being able to demonstrate that he's a productive member of Iranian society.

It's not going to be an easy road, but if you're patient and you can demonstrate significant proof of your relationship along with a perfect application, it's possible that you'll be together approximately two years from now.

And just I engaged but not married yet. yes I am from Iran too. I dont know how can I start. I know if I invite him its going to be long time to meet him here and again he has to go back. I just confused for my life & dont know what to do. :(

Well, you just got to Canada. Why don't you try to settle in and become used to Canadian culture before making any new changes in your life. There is no hurry. You are young.

My advice to you is .....is to stay in canada and get yourself situated first....your fiance should understand....when you get a job and work up some money then go back to Iran and marry your man....by this some time should run off ....if he dont understand then he is not the man for you...he should know that this spousal sponsorship process take alot of time and energy......that what i would sure do

There is no rule to wait, only thing is if you were yourself sponsored as spouse you would have to wait after divorce for 5 years in order to sponsor a new spouse. WHhich is not your case.

You can if you want to go and marry him and apply. As others said you have to provide proofs that your marriage is Genuine. Wedding pics, contact details, emails, phone bills, gifts receipt , your visit to him etc..

There is no financial requirement to sponsor your husband (future) but you should not be on welfare or social assistance.

But having job will accelerate the process as the immigration officer will know that you can support your husband. But having Job is not a requirement. YOur parents or relative can also give letter that they will support you while you find a job etc.. Or if you have money you can show that too, your bank statement etc. But all this is not required but advised.

Good Luck :)

As others have said - this is impossible.

If you want to sponsor him after you get married, you will have to be living in Canada.

He can apply for a TRV to come to Canada as a visitor - however there's a high chance his application will be refused.

Perhaps he could go to Canada as a student. Search for a school that has a college diploma. It would be a way for him to be with you. I know some people from your country here, but they have demonstrated at least some wealth in order to get a visa. My prayers are with you.
