CAUTION regarding CHC( cummunity health centres) :
1.dont expect to see doctors all the time,nurse practitioners attend most of the time and u will not kw who attended u,nurses pretend as doctors.
2.some dont even kw to take BP ( personal experience).once wrong high BP enters records u r in trouble in getting good rate on pvt insurance for drugs.
3.i felt service as a low quality approach to satisfy desperate people of canada,definetely satisfies refugees.
4.the one i attended dont kw difference between type 1 n type 2 diabetes.i got this from the questions i was asked.
5.i felt several flaws in the examination system as well n there is high possibility that wrong diagnosis will b made,important findings will b missed n delayed treatment cd happen.
6.if pateints requires additional services which r not available at centre like referral to specialist or hospital then staff cant get free service at these places,service ends there.one has to pay or wait for health card for complete care if required.
7.long wait to see any medical practitioner need not b emphasised.
IMHO CHC satisfies desperate people n follows certain protocol, it delivers mass treatment,although individualised its not effective to b called as individualised approach.the main concerns of centres is to reach community not individual.

art its alarming . but doc has to clear so many exams to get licence and get residency postion to get into private practice . a long and difficult journey for img doctors ???well and after this how can doctor doesnt know ? :

I dont mean doctors r bad,wht i meant here is the system of CHC n i was mainly referring to nurse practitioners.
I will explain hw common people get caught in this.
In CHC doctors n nurse practitioners work in par each other n when any person asks for doctor, that person most of time will b referred to nurse practitioner not doctor.one cant differentiate nurse practitioner from GP unless one asks or someone says bec they dress like doctors,talk n examine like doctors n prescribe like doctors,so even some receptionists dont kw difference.
There will not b any name board with qualifications n people consider nurse practitioners as doctors.
My own experience:
i asked for doctor appointment,got after 3 wks,receptionist fixed me with xyz doctor( in reality not doctor).i clearly asked for DOCTOR.
I went on my appt date n met xyz,who didnt introduce to me,i introduced myself as a doctor n regular procedure followed.
I finished with my appt n i picked proffesional talk regarding doctors etc etc.....bing....then xyz introduced to me as nurse practitioner.
All i want to caution everyone here is that CHC has got more nurse practitioners than doctors n there r no name boards to differentiate them n receptionists r not trained abt difference n there is a whole lot of mess there.receptionists n settlement persons dont kw difference n nurse practitioners dont reveal( may b they feel patient knows,staff knows or i dont kw if any other reason),so one ends with them n will walk out without knowing difference.if i had not picked that particular talk even i would hv been under that impression.people( both patients n staff) at CHC where i went addressed xyz as doctor,who is infact a nurse practitioner.
when i noticed several medical mistakes i cdnt understand hw a doctor can go wrong in several areas,at the end i got everything clear but i dont think any non medical person can differentiate.so there is high risk of getting wrongly satisfied.

thankyou , art .but plz do tell if you ve any idea how to get job there . i am really serious about it .as i am a gp here in my home country want to clear all exams in canada but still they say its very difficult to get in practice so while studying and clearing exams can i get a job their (part time )so at least i can pay heavy canadian exam fees , as i can do much better than those nurses atleast i ll not play with the life of people )).thankyou in advance

yes ,i applied in 2004 and i got PPR today so hope to get my passport back with visa INSHALLAH . .its depressing as we leave our countries.. as neigbour lawn looks green . its depressing abt job scnerio .but coming in hope ..plz tell have you tried for desk jobs ...only initally and mean while you can look job in your field .hope you get one soon. as i can understand with expenses in new place with no job as i am worried too about inital setteling phase and finding a job . and its making me crazy ??? ??? ???.i ve seen there are jobs in libraries (desk job) and wages are 17$ /hrs .atleast you dont have to spend from your savings ? good luck .we are planning for missausaga the hub for asians

well art2012 have u get crediental s evaluated as they say to get job .is it true?have u got any interview ?is end of dec good to land ?are we should come in first week of march coz i am planning for exams in march i have to start studying and adjusting in new place ,finding home setteling takes time so i am afraid i ll waste my time in marchand i take too much tension for exams .many years of my life have been wasted by slow processing of my case .
(but than i think all is well that ends well) but than i think of prepaing for my exams in my home country where i am enjoying all facilities comfort and the open weather not like canada .. ive kidz but i think kidz adjust to new enviorment more quickly...... adaptability.worried also that we can give them this lifestyle that they are enjoying here but its a dream so... we are so confused end of december or march cant decide .you can see from reading these lines how i confused i am now .

firstly im extremely sorry for delayed reply.
As far i kw toronto job market is hard to penetrate,its hard even for born canadians,so u can imagine abt new immigrants.
Honestly we didnt try anywhere except toronto,so dont kw abt mississauga.
I personally feel job as librarian is decent one and i guess one gets $17/hr only after completion of certificate course.
Any new immigrant in general in toronto can expect minimum of $10.25/ hr.
U have rightly said that grass on the other side of fence always look green and as a doctor you will realize this once u come here.several other proffessionals r also getting affected and several peoples knowledge and skills are getting wasted.
