Hi I applied for my husband on January 2021 and did the medicals(for visitor visa which was approved but didn’t put on passport because we preferred to wait for the pr) and biometric , also received pre-arrival , and was requested additional documents on June 17,2021 with I sent on July 16,2021 and didn’t know they were missing, so they replied to me on October 26,2021 saying they are missing. The additional documents were for a fight that happened in 2003 ( 17 years ago I was 18 and there were people yelling and I was reported for having a fight with a guy my age ) I had to pay 30$ or one day of jail and I payed 30$ instead. In the declaration of background application I put no for ever doing a fight and didn’t know it was such a big deal Because I was a kid and did such thing also 17 years ago i totally forgot it) so the documents they requested I got them all which are the court documents, proof I payed the fee, a paper explaining the events, they want a police record which I couldn’t get because in my country because they told me every 10 years they through them out ) if someone can help me what should I do I couldn’t receive the police record and is it a problem because I put no for never having a fight. They are making me feel like I did a real crime

I assume you are the sponsor.

IRCC is verifying that you meet the requirements to sponsor your spouse. As long as the fight didn't involve a family member or someone you were in a relationship with at that time, you'll be fine.

For the police record you cannot obtain, you should provide a letter of explanation to IRCC on what you weren't able to get this documentation. If you have an email from the police in your home country stating the record cannot be obtained because they are destroyed after 10 years, you should include that.
