Hi,

I applied for canadian PR. Right now i am in USA. I am going to apply for h1b visa this year in april 2009.

I want to know that after getting PR can i work in the USA without a visa or I need an H1B visa. Or there is any other procedure or visa to work in USA.

Thanks

Legally you cannot work in the US without US work authorization ~ with PR of Canada, you will only get Canadian work authorization, so in that case, to work in the US, you'll still need US work authorization.

I am not sure about the US H1B visa procedure, I can only suggest that if you want to continue to work in the US after your PR for Canada is in your hands, you need to renew the H1B visa, many applicants does that and they come back to work in the US, however you need to remember that in order to maintain the status if your Canadian PR, you need to live in Canada for 2 years out of 5, otherwise your PR status will be fried.

A Canadian PR does not give you any employment privileges in the US. You still need an H1B visa/approval to work in the US temporarily. You are not covered under NAFTA when you are not a Canadian citizen.

This is only my opinion. I am not an expert.

Good luck,

Thats right Canadin Permanent residency will not give you any waivers to get a work visa to work in US. It might be easy since you are in Canada no, but still be a requirement.
