if holding OWP, can we apply for the health insurance card?

So do the OHIP personnel call the employer to verify if we actually work or is it just a formality? Just wanted to know

It could be something as silly as the agent making a typo, or forgetting to scan/photocopy your new work permit. I would just do ask they ask...

That was my guess too, but was not sure. I will email them the new work permit .
