If anyone loses PR status due to less residency, can he apply again in future?

Hello forum members,

I just to know if anyone loses his PR by not meeting the residency requirement, can he or she be allowed to apply again if they meet the scores in future? I got PR but I will be going to US to attend school for couple of years, and plan to work there for couple of years more to make some money. So I am kind of curious. I know i am talking about really long period for a prediction or projection of rules, is there any provision in the existing text of the law that points to this situation ?
Thanks.

Yes, you can reapply in the future.

I have another question, is there any way to maintain the pr status despite not meeting residency requirements?

I have heard that you can even enter Canada on the last day of the expiry of your PR card, even though if you had never lived in canada in last 4 - 5 years. But you cannot renew it means you need to meet 2 year residency to renew PR card. I guess you can live 2 years in Canada after entering on last day of PR card expiry and then would be able to renew it.

You can TRY to re-enter Canada without meeting the residency obligation. If you get in without being reported - then you would have to live in Canada without leaving for 2 straight years before applying to renew your PR card. During these two years, it may be difficult to do certain things like obtain health care coverage. If you are reported at the border for failing to meet RO, you will have to appear at a hearing to argue why you should be allowed to keep your status. In your case you'll be denied since working and studying outside of Canada aren't accepted as reasons for failing to meet RO. Once you're denied, your PR status will be officially revoked and you will have to leave Canada.

Thanks for the response. I want to ask if PR is revoked once, then can we reapply if we meet the scores ? Or revocation bars the individual for further applications?

Hello Everyone,
I have a related question on behalf of my friend who is really worried and appreciate your opinion.

I need some help regarding my friend's query on her PR renewal.

She came here in Canada in 2008 on dependent PR. She left the country after 6 months and came back in July, 2013.
She completed her time for renewal and applied in June 2015 (for renewal process)
So far she has only 1 query and that was to submit a color copy of her passport.

It has been 1 year and 3 months and she has not got any answer till date.

She tried calling them many times at Hallifax office in Nova Scotia office but could not get any specific information on the application or its status. All they are saying is to wait as there is no time limit for renewal process.

Could anyone please help on how to approach this dilemma?
