Hi friends,

I have a challenge with filling the correct info about my employer, when:

I actually and literally worked at 'Big Company Inc' but 'Star Agency' Employed me on a Contract to work at 'Big Company Inc'. Where the papers were drawn by the 'Star Agency' and they payment came from Star Agency. But I went to work at 'Big Company Inc's office. Finally the T4 for the year also came from 'Star Agency'.
Star Agency further assigned me on another contract with another company - 'XYZ Company' in the same year for a month.

Considering both the companies are located in Toronto, which company's details should I fill in the employment section?

I would appreciate your insights and your understanding from your experiences.

While I don't have the newest version of that question in front of me, it used to ask for your employer, title, and where you're physically present.
So I'd list the agency name as the employer, the "big company Inc" address, and would put something like "creative director on contract at Big Company Inc" as the job itself.

This is a very common situation and IRCC is well aware of it. Also, it probably doesn't matter much as all the possibilities you're considering here all show a clear pattern of physical presence in Canada.

Go with what makes the most sense to you (and my suggestion above is what makes the most sense to me), and don't worry too much about it.

Ok so I'll just lay it out, as per the application form:

Occupation/Activity: Creative Director on Contract at Big Company. Contracted by Star Agency.

Employer: Star Agency

Address: The Big Company
10 Providence Blvd
Hampton ON L7T 5T6

...

Does this seem right?

"Contracted by Star Agency" is a bit overkill, you already specified who your employer is. The rest est looks fine.

Thank you for your inputs and clarifying the format for how to do this.

About 'Contracted by Star Agency' part; I feel it makes things clearer, and provides context for putting Star Agency as the employer. Because just putting Employment at Big company and then putting Star agency as Employer, may not connect. But once you write the 'contracted by Star Agency, it sort of makes the link obvious.

Could providing the extra 'contracted by' be a problem or be confusing?

As I said, IMHO, it's just overkill, nothing more and nothing less :)
Confusing : nop.
À problem : nop.
