IELTS withhelding result

I'm getting new results on 23rd Dec. My current results expire on 10th Jan. I'm already convinced that they are going to be withheld just to spite me

Interestingly, we have the same IELTS timeline.

At the moment, questionable. Made a silly spelling mistake in a listening answer (curse you 5 years of constant spell checking!) and at least 2 others I definitely missed/guessed. So aiming for 8 for Listening, 3 wrong means I'll only be allowed another 2 wrong. So listening... maybe.

Similar scenario for Reading. I know at least 2 were wtf guesses but hoping the rest was right.

Writing was probably the best/most natural.

Speaking was 90% - Got a bit native tongue tied, but I think in the marking criteria they account for pauses "natural to a native speaker".

On the whole, OK I think but maybe not enough in the listening for my 8 again. Crazily embarrassing being a native speaker, but not everyone has a strong exam ability.

yeah listening is tricky... but you are allowed upto 5 mistakes to get 8 band so you should be fine...
i got 8.5 in listening when i wrote the test 2nd time around recently, have no idea how... i was sure i made atleast 4 mistakes... i guess 1-2 guesses i made were correct ha ha - i will never know

but getting 8 in reading and 7.5 each in the rest should be a piece of cake for you... so yeah i think you did pretty well.... just hope there is no "result withheld" text from them to delay the result

I gavr my exam on 29th july and my result should have come on 11th aug but on that day i recd msg that ur result is hold due to quality purpose and will rec it on 25 th aug
Then on 25 th aug they have given 8th sep date then on 8th sep they gave 29th sep date and today they again sent the same msg that i will get updation of my result status on 27th oct

Now upto 27th oct it will be 90 days ( 3months)
I dont know why british council is doing this i m frusterated

Have anybody idea that what is the moto behind it and when i will get the result

It happened to me also and they sent me an email on the day I was supposed to receive results.. They told me to check back the results 2 weeks later but it was made available in a week only.

They withheld my result because I had gotten 9 in reading and listening but 6.5 in speaking. they withhold it when there is a difference of 2 point or more in any two sections. Of course, this is one of the reasons, there are few others as KrytOn mentioned.

That's looking normal to me. Any non-native will has high reading and listening but not speaking and writing. Unless, they are planning to double check everyone, It's making no sense to me.
