Hello,

I hope you can help with an answer.
My score in the writing section of the IELTS is 6.5. Does this prevent me from applying for express entry visa because a score of 7+ is required?

My overall score is 8 (listening 8, reading 9, speaking 7.5).

You can find your CRS score using this tool: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/crs-tool.asp

If the final score is above 440, you stand a chance, as per the current trends.

This does not prevent you from applying (i.e entering the EE pool) as long as you meet the criteria mentioned here: https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/immigrate-canada/express-entry/eligibility/federal-skilled-workers/six-selection-factors-federal-skilled-workers.html

However, you may not receive an Invitation to Apply for PR (ITA) as per current trends.When your IELTS score is upgraded you can update your application and points will be calculated accordingly and you may receive an ITA.

Only a score below 6 in any module in the IELTS exam will make you ineligible.

Thank you all,

I've calculated the Federal Skilled Worker Program score and reached 71.
I've also calculated the express entry score in the link Grizz gave and reached only 359.

This means that there is no chance to be accepted. Right?

I suggest you enter the pool. I’m not very good at it yet but I think there are some other ways of getting in. Like PNP etc. Others in the forum should be able to help.
