Hi,

I recently gave my IELTS and got L-7. 5, R-6. 5, W- 7.5 and S-7. 5. I am 36 years of age with 10+ years of experience with a Masters Degree. Wondering if I need to re-write IELTS to get 8777(LRSW) to be eligible or qualify for the express entry?

Thanks for your help!

In order to be qualified for express entry you only need to have ielts 6.0 (6.0 for all bands). However, if you achieve 8777 (CLB9) your score will get a huge boost due to transfer ability factors. So right now if your CRS score is 470+ then I wouldn't suggest rewrite. Otherwise, you definitely need to retake to boost your score.

Before I took the IELTS, my score was 462. I will turn 37 this January so I think 5 more points shall reduce. Is 450+ score not enough these days? Just looking at options that I may have. .

Well with the recent FST draw, there will be likely 4 draws left for this year, and I believe the score will remain at high 460s or low 470s. With your score I think it will be a bit difficult. I definitely suggest you try to retake IELTS, as 8777 will give you additional 50 points and you won't have to worry about anything for years.
