Hi, guys,

I have already filled CEC application on Dec 2012 with below 1st attempt score, received AOR on Jan 2013 , My scores are listed below:
1st attempt
Listening: 5.5
Reading:5.5
Writing:6.0
Speaking:7.0

I wasn't sure first score will be eligible , So i recently took Ielts again , got below score . This time my second score satisfies the language requirement for 2012 rules and guide lines.

2nd attempt
Listening: 6.5
Reading:6.0
Writing:5.5
Speaking:6.5

I m planning to send test results to CIC. Will CIC accept the second attempt score or not ?

Hi

As per the checklist you need to include a qualifying ielts score with the application. If you are sure that your initial score will not qualify you (your application will be anyway rejected if you do not have a qualifying score) and the second one will qualify you, just send out your recent score. Just leave it to your luck and see if they accept your new score.

Because you 1st IELTS scores are definitely not good enough for NOC 0 or A, so it would be wise if you call CIC and check with them to see if they will accept your new test scores.

Your first attempt score is not enough. If CIC ask you to submit new IELTS score without rejection you may submit your new score. As per Dec 2012, you are having eligible IELTS score in your second attempt. In another case, If CIC returned your application and if you start from the beginning your secont attempt writing score is not enough. So your plan might be, to take IELTS exam again, because I am guessing, they will return your application due to lower IELTS score and you may need to submit your new application with 2013 eligibility criteria ie at-least 6.0 in all tasks.

sorry they won't. If you don't submit a qualifying IELTs score the application will be refused.

I do not know why people spending time conversing about these things.

You are extremely lucky - you received an AOR when you should not have! Now, if a VO moves on to process your application, they will reject it if the IELTS score is below the required threshold. So, if you have any sense, you should make sure you have passed it and send the results in ASAP - before they return your application.

If you send them the new results before they start processing, their will be a chance they will not refuse your application.

This just goes to show that the first check on the applications are for completeness. I.e. are all the docs here - not are the docs correct!

check here: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/cec/language-testing.asp

your score is not eligible for A or 0. It is OK for B. You should score minimum 6 in all skills to be eligible for A or 0 category.
Before asking questions in forum, I would suggest you to either search the forum for same question or check the CIC website. It is claerly mentioned in CIC website. Also you need not ask same question again and again in all thread.

Thanks shibinp. Though I read at cic website but it seems their manual is not updated and according to that my score is eligible. Even I consulted with a lawyer in Toronto and she confirmed that I am eligible. To avoid the confusion I asked this question. Sice there is no nearby date available for IELTS , I am targeting for CELPIP. After reading the samples this one seems to be better than IELTS.

To repeat. If your job is A, O, your score is NOT sufficient. For NOC B, it is okay. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/cec/language.asp

Cic website is upto date, you might have referred the old manual. If u select Canadian experience class and then eligibility detail and go inside, it will clearly shows the latest requirements. Also beware of such consultancy, go with only CIC approved consultancy if u want to use them for applying. All the best.

this is old requirement.

just to make clarification on op25

there are 2 versions of op25.

1. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/manuals/op/op25-eng.pdf
For applications for permanent residence submitted by applicants in the Canadian Experience Class (CEC) received before January 2, 2013.

2. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/manuals/op/op25A-eng.pdf
for applications for permanent residence submitted
by applicants in the Canadian Experience Class (CEC) and received by the Centralized Intake Office (CIO) on or after January 2, 2013.

In second one we can clearly see changes in language requirement.

Also you can directly check in CIC website instead of going to the PDF manual.
