IELTS for Teaching line

hi
i have also applied for FSW visa under 4131 code.
i have secured L-6.5
R-7
w-6.5
s-6.5
overall 6.5 in academics
in india i am teaching English.
Do any of u here feel that it is low score for a english lecturer.
If i get visa can i teach any other subjects if not English?
i have got B.ed degree also.
do u think whether my scores are o.k
i have claimed 14/16 for language proficiency.
will my case get visa.

hi mohan,
4131 is such a noc that english profeciency is expected litle higher.............. and u being english lecturer..... is obvious that u score gud in ielts.........

if u are getting 67 points than there should not be any problem with ur currnt score..................

but if u want to get license in canada............... minimum english level is 7 in ielts academic...............
but recently there have been some changes in the eligibility critria......... so refere to www.oct.ca for details.....

@ benjamin....teaching line for Toronto we need to go for academic test ...? if yes then ..after or before going their...?

u can refer to www.oct.ca for details, but to get exempted from ielts ur college and school will have to send letter to the governing body ( in ontario it is OCT ) that the medium of instruction in the institute was english..... and u knw how difficult it is !!!!!!! if u want to give ielts academic...... thn better before going there..........

I applied in January 2009, did not take IELTS. I wrote a written explanation. My first language is English and my 2nd language is French. I applied under 4131 NOC. My application is in process, since June 2010. No new yet from them.

please help me to calculate my points.

Master's Degree 17 years of study.........
Age ......10
Experience 4 or more years .........
English .........( written on my Master's degree certificate that i can take Doctorate studies in English language)
French ........ Indicated on my Bachelor's Transcripts that i did French studies)

Please can someone help calculate my points for me.

Thanks for the suggestion. For English i claimed 14 points and for French i claimed i claimed 6 points. i just hope all will be fine.

then i think i will be fine. But i am sure for my two languages i will get more than 11 points.

Yes i will just chill, but just afraid as they are refusing most people with NOC 4131. Just praying all goes well with my application.

bro my suggestion is sit for ielts......... in case they ask for it later u can produce without much delay.............. its just my suggestion...

Yes i think it is a good idea. I am going on my annual leave when i return and nothing yet, then i will take it at that time.
