IELTS expiring but still awaiting decision on my PR application

Hello everyone,

Apologies if this question has already been asked before.

January 1, 2017, I submitted my complete PR application (as per my personalized checklist) and I know that it takes CIC 6 months (or within 6 months) to make a decision on my application.

Here's the problem: My IELTS will expire on February 28.

Question: Do I have to take a new IELTS test and submit a new score? Or do I wait for CIC to ask for a new score?

If I do take a new IELTS test, how do I update this information on my profile? Hasn't my profile already been locked while they are checking my documents or something?

No, you do not have to re-take the test nor will they ask you to re-take it.

As long as your score was valid when submitted, you're fine.
No new tests will be needed. It's not medical.
