I did the same mistake and also I compared with the advantages of living in houses..I thought the same...it is asking for your opinion and not a discuss question no??
if it says one word then the answers needs to be just one word.I wrote "50p for postage". Which is correct 50p or 50p for postage?
It was a direct question it wasnt discuss both sides and give opinion...at least that is what i believe...i hope we are rightI did the same mistake and also I compared with the advantages of living in houses..
If you are discussing advantages and disadvantages, there has to be something to compare with. So I think even writing about advantages over living in houses is fine. As long as this is a part of your response and you have also included some disvantages I believe you did fine. In conclusion you need to take a stance whether it has more advantages or disadvantages. It was a direct question it wasnt discuss both sides and give opinion...at least that is what i believe...i hope we are right
Yeah but the question had an OR in it meaning we should dicuss only one side no??If you are discussing advantages and disadvantages, there has to be something to compare with. Hey Guys , first time writing on this forum .... many thanks for contributing and allowing the comparing of answers.
I have two questions please :
1. in the Listening section 1 : are you sure the code is NW33NT , because I distinctly remember it was MW33NT ?
2. In the Listening section 2 : Store didn't make sense to me ( never heard it being used in that context before ) , so I wrote Storage ..... do you think this would be acceptable ?

You’re right. But I generally feel that when you’re quoting advantages or disadvantages, it has to be over another form of housing. That’s what I mean that there isn’t any harm if you wrote disadvantages over independent housing/villas etc.Yeah but the question had an OR in it meaning we should dicuss only one side no??
Yeah true, but i was clarifiying that point for the other concerned person!! IELTS is becoming really annoying, with all those hidden tricks...You’re right. Agreed. Besides your actual English skills, it’s also to cater to the examiners expectations in particular. You’re right you largely have to trick the way to a higher band!Yeah true, but i was clarifiying that point for the other concerned person!! it is not about testing our spoken and written english anymore...i truly belive they are missing the point here!!
I wrote “At the box office” instead of just box office, as the instruction suggested not more than Four Words and/or a numberI believe it is not one word question.
