Hello,

Please help. I have given ielts 3 times but I am stuck on 5.5 bands. I want to apply for canada. What are the visa success rates with low ielts score. I am wondering if I can apply because I checked only few colleges accept 5.5 and give offer letter. Just want an advice rather than visa refusal.

Thanks!

Your scores are too long - retake the exam is your only way to go

Incorrect. OP is not applying to immigrate. OP wants to attend school in Canada. You can in fact obtain a study permit (to attend college) with a score of 5.5.

Hi All,

I received my IELTS General Test results yesterday (Aug 5, 2015 [for immigration]). Exam was conducted on Jul 23.

I was very confident of scoring 7 to 7.5 in both listening and reading modules as my confidence level in both were similar.
My result is as below

Listening -7.5
Reading - 5.5
Writing - 6.5
Speaking - 7.5

Eligibility criteria for Canada Express Entry is 6 ( need 0.5 to hit the mark).

I am considering re-mark(re-evaluation) for Reading alone. Has anybody in this forum experienced similar situation for listening/Reading as these are mostly
objective type and not sure how it went wrong here.

I have also heard from some forums online that this can happen as initial evaluation is automatic process where as re-evaluation is a manual process.

I Would appreciate your valuable inputs. Thanks.

You will need to retake the test. You need a CLB 7 to be eligible (at least 6 in all tests)
Best of luck

No - not possible to apply for Express Entry. You need a minimum of 6 in each of the four categories. You need to take IELTS again.

Hlo
I have done my +2 with no medical 76% marks. I got writing and listening =5.5
Speaking and reading =6
Can I apply for Canada study permit what would be the success rate?
