Ielts 2nd December 2017 answer key

In London Fire Reading passage, last T/F/NG, there was a question on Christopher refused to build...something like that. But in the passage it said he did not have an option/choice...something on those lines. So what would be the answer - I gave Not Given, because its not mentioned whether he agreed or disagreed, just that he was given no choice

I didn't understand how it is contrasting...because if it contrasts the question, then passage should say like he agreed to build or anything that contradicts he refused to build. But he was not given an option was in the passage, which means we cannot say if he agreed or refused to build..at least that was my understanding..T/FNG sure is tricky!!

You may b correct.
As far as I remember, passage said he had new ideas but king refused and he had no option but to carry on with original plan which means he had to agree ultimately.

Different people have different opinions. That’s my side of answer.
