I’m still getting technical issues when I try to view it. I did mine in the USA. Anyone else from the USA still unable to view their results as well?

Hi, just confirming I have got my paper results back, I obtained 8.5L, 9R, 7.5W (don't know why, probably because I tend to write more formally in Step 1 and Step 2 sounds good but robotic), and 8.5 speaking. Enough to get me to 449.
Hi, but i still cannot view my result. How did you do it

Ri
You will basically get -3 off the maximum amount of points you can due to your writing being 7.... So Instead of 100 points, for example, you have 97.

For CLB 10 (that guarantees maximum immigration points), it is L8.5, R 8, W 7.5, and S 7.5

Right but it is still good no?

Thank you for the
That depends. All these 3 are my observations as a former educational statistician. Again, don't be offended as these are the worst case scenario, the "tell it like it is moment".
  1. For immigration, depending on how precious that 3 points are. For example, 3 points off total 500 CRS Score is not likely to affect your immediate ITA success. If you are like me with 449, getting 446 could mean settling for a nomination instead of a normal pathway. For someone with 402 CRS score, it means he can't even get a nomination without the 3 points.
  2. If you looked at how many migrants post their questions/comments, your result is godly. Just telling it like it is.
  3. Experience-wise, most universities believe 6-7-band is enough for day-to-day communication, but IELTS is really easy if you had to sweat for a 7-band, your day-to-day English likely sucks. I got 7 in 2011 when I moved to NZ, and I sucked balls compared to what I am now. So your 8-8.5 scores are way above average, you are practically fluent.
If you have not calculated your CRS please do so here, if your Writing had been a 7.5, you could have gotten +3 to whatever CRS you are in now.

Depending on your situation (whether your CRS is 500, 399, or 440) an extra of 3 points could be "nyeh" to "I have to retake to get in"
Many thanks for your reply. It is giving me 496 points. Again, I did a Master of Laws in Vancouver in 2014/2015 and I'm a lawyer. That boosts my points. Is it really the 7 at the writing that is going to screw me up? Moreover, I got minimum 6 years of experience and I've graduated in Portugal in 2009. Another point is that I am eligible to practice law in canada and a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada. Doesnt that put a huge dent on my application?

Thanks again my friend

496 is safe. In general people aim to be at least 430 (for safety net using Provincial Nomination). No point in resitting the test to get 499.

If you need to be eligible (which you said you are), you are not going to be hurt by your degrees, but do get your Portuguese degree certified by WES first.

Considering that I have a Masters degree from UBC, Vancouver, do you think I have to go through it?

Careful. he also has a degree from a Portuguese Univ. I don't know if he was referring to WES or eligibility to serve as a lawyer.
If he wishes to get his Portuguese degree awarded points he must go to WES.
he has a Master's in Law from Canada. So, he can claim his work ex as a lawyer from back home in Portugal. Getting an ECA, in his case, is a matter of choice really.

On a side note: Are you still in NZ? Where did you study?

LOL, I started at UoA in 2012! I would then work as a TA starting from 2013 to 2015, then was hired in end 2016...

Can't wait for these ITA to roll next week, unlike you I genuinely hate my country.
hahahaha! Hate is too strong a word for me personally. Yeah, we all want to get out, don't we?

Hi Guys,

I got the following:

L 8.5
R 9
W 7
S 8

Is it good for a nice amount of points for the PR?

I also got an LLM (Master of Laws) in Canada and I am licenced to practice law in canada, I'm a lawyer in Portugal and working in a bank in Lisbon.

Please share your thoughts
