The question is this. Will the employment letter states you have been working up to the present? If it does, will that jeopardize your ability to get PR status since it proven that you have been working past your IEC expire date. Are you willing to show this letter to CIC agent? Are you that confidence that you won't be denied PR status at landing, the most important last step of getting PR status of your life?
I don't know why they would ask for this document when we land anyway, I know they ask us the basic 3 questions... like has anything changed since submitting the application, address for PR card etc

At that point I would have already received my Open Work Permit and would be working under that anyway....

If at that very point I am denied at the Point of Entry with that agent, there will be some strong words exchanged as by the time I am there I'm sure 20+ months have passed since I was waiting so long for the application to be processed which is disgraceful having to wait that long. I know its not his fault personally but I will have enough evidence behind me to back me up.

Again, do you really think CIC cares about your personal problems? Really, since when does CIC ever start caring? Your evidences won't help you when they have evidence of you applying for status of restoration and you working during that time. They are only interested in whether you were abiding immigration rules / laws or not. Personal issues (long processing time, I don't blame you for that) against the system doesn't justify your reasons to continue working.

As the famous saying goes: "The end does not justify the mean"

I'll repeat my question as I'm curious...why are you bothered about the wait times as you have continued to work its not as is you are waiting from the OWP like everyone else in the same position?

Hello!

I really need some counselling, as I am feeling lost, nervous and desperate :-X

Back in April 29th, I applied for a PR Card + OWP. All set and perfect. BUT a few hours after mailing the package, I got a receipt from CIC on my e-mail and, turns out, I was supposed to send that receipt, not the browser receipt I got when I first paid for the PR/OWP. Needless to say, the application got returned two months later. I received it yesterday – July 4th.

The problem is that I was allowed to stay in Canada legally until June 22nd (6 months after I landed here for the last time) and that means that I am now illegal here. I had implied status so that was not a problem, but now that I got the application returned, I am assuming I am not in implied status anymore. (Am I right?)

Now, I don't know how to proceed about this.

From what I gather, I need to apply for the restoration of visa status - visitor before applying for the new PR and OWP? Can I just pay the fee for the restoration and send it all back to them at once?

The forms for the application are stamped as received in April 30th. Can I just send it back and they will consider that for this period, roughly a week, since they sent it to me and I sent the missing documents to them, that I was still in implied status and thus I am still eligible for this application?

Please, any information that might help and/or calm me down. I'm devastated.
