I applied with 1096 days. I guess that triggered IRCC to request ICES review of absences.
Yes. Less 2 days and you would not be eligible. That's why I suggest people to go with a buffer as review takes more time then having a buffer.

Aor received on May 29th and test take July 13th. I had an interview on November and since then no updates! So disappointing. I hope to get update very soon.
Any updated on your file? I hope you are done with this process!

I reviewed by GCMS Notes today and under the notes it states "Pending ICES report". I applied on 1095th day for citizenship application

Your review will take more time then what you saved while applying without a buffer.
Something new to learn.
Under "Application assignment" section, the application has been assigned to a certain officer (QWxxxxx) and the due date is 8-Oct-2024. Not sure how strictly they follow the date. Going to apply for GCMS tomorrow again

Applying without buffer leads to 1-3 level of officer verification as even a single day issue uld make you ineligible for citizenship and these officers take there own sweet time. Hope you get ones who would review it fast.

Hello if that can help, I had the same ICES request on my GCMS notes, I had applied with 1100 days, but at the moment of the application I left Canada.
All the parts on my application were marked as "Completed" (including the presence which was confirmed to be good to go), yet the agent put a note saying "applicant is now living abroad, returned to canada briefly ICES to be requested to assess residency requirements"

My immigration lawyer told me that it was a no sense, as the permanence and requirements were already been checked, but you can always find the agent who want to piss you off for no reason.

Well this scheduled ICES blocked my application for more than a year, when I was just waiting to be invited to the oath. Basically the agent added the request on the notes, but no one really scheduled it.

After a year, as my PR card was about to expire I had to file a Mandamus against IRCC to have things moving. A week after we filled the mandamus, immigration waived the ICES request and invited me urgently to the oath

Thank you for sharing your story. Its a shame that you had to file a Mandamus against IRCC.

Hope I get an update soon

hope as well. Yes Mandamus unblocked everything in just 2 days after we filled it. Still, thanks to IRCC I had to literally waste 3500 dollars for nothing, as my dossier was already completed.
Aor received in march 2021
Test done in august 2021
all completed in september 2021

Mandamus filled in october 2023

I am afraid to spend $3500 on IRCC lol, however during my PR application, they failed my eligibility for some reason. I made them overturn their decision and got my PR within 2 months. I guess I have to follow the same path for them to act quickly

Any update. I found out on my Gcms notes that they requested ICES too. Also, they put my application on Hold. It’s been more than a year. Don’t know what should I do now.
