I am married and have a kid, but I want to go to Canada alone first so that I can put a fully functional set up there and then call my wife and kids. Fully functional set up means a Job, a rented home, and nearby school for the kid.

But while filling this field they ask me how much money I am going to bring to Canada to help me and family. The ideal amount to bring to Canada is 12,000 CAD per person. So starting to accumulate such amount in the bank account, varies by the huge difference when it comes to 1 person or family.

Please suggest what should be my answer.

This is as per process. No matter your dependents are accompanying or not. You have to show funds for entire family.

As said above, you must have enough funds to cover your entire family, even if they aren't coming to Canada with you right away. Assuming you have two children, you must show that you have at least $23,542.
