Your implied status starts when your current VR/passport stamp expires and you have submitted an application for extension and it was received at CPC-V.Baloo said:Not too fast I hope, my extension application will arrive in Vegreville today (by courier), I would like to make the most of my implied status
I understand that "Implied status" ends when a decision is made, or if I leave the country.
But that raises a question, does implied status start when my form arrives in Vegreville (yes, I will have proof it got there)?
Me too. It is making me sad that the number is going down. I want it to go back up.Baloo said:Not too fast I hope, my extension application will arrive in Vegreville today (by courier), I would like to make the most of my implied status
I saved copies of the documents I sent to CIC/CPC together with photocopies of the receipts and Canada post customer receipts. Anyway if you tracked the application and they were received it, there's no need to worry.toby said:How do you prove you have sent in an application to extend the visa?
And I assume you cannot leave Canada while under "implied" status, right?
I have copies of all the documents that I have sent; I used Fedex to get the package to Vegreville, and I ticked the box "signature required on delivery".toby said:How do you prove you have sent in an application to extend the visa?

The VR states "This does not authorize re-entry". So I am assuming that without a TRV (for those who require visa to enter Canada) someone who leaves Canada can not re-enter Canada unless s/he only exited to the US, St Pierre/Miquelon, even with an unexpired VR.Baloo said:I have copies of all the documents that I have sent; I used Fedex to get the package to Vegreville, and I ticked the box "signature required on delivery".
If you leave Canada when under implied status you lose it, but what happens if you leave after you have an extension granted?
I guess that you become a "normal" visitor again.
Yes, so when you leave Canada, you can re-enter again without TRV but you being allowed entry depends solely upon the officer at POE because you already have a VR, don't you? Having been given VR upon entry you are currently "flagged" in the system. You are especial for nowBaloo said:That makes sense.
BTW I was looking at this as a visa exempt person (Brit).
Yes I have a VR, what funjob_seeker said:Yes, so when you leave Canada, you can re-enter again without TRV but you being allowed entry depends solely upon the officer at POE because you already have a VR, don't you?
Well, I have made lots of visits to Canada, I now get a first name greeting from POE staff (no, it is a joke), I am on a VR that ends in March and I have just applied for an extension so that I can get married.job_seeker said:Having been given VR upon entry you are currently "flagged" in the system.
