My wife was called for an interview and i was checking questions that they may ask one was....

What would you do if we refused the application for your visa?

Has anyone even thought about this, i never did now it is making me think like crazy because i cant imagine my life without her. After all her 4 year old boy thinks of me as daddy as he has not know his real father what do you do?Especially if you can not leave Canada as i have children here from my ex wife. And i could never leave them.

What would you do?If you were refused your visa........other than appeal.

I am so excited for you... When is her interview. Please keep us updated. I will pray that everything goes well for you...

I dont think about it... My dh (dear husband) and I have been together since 1997 and married since 1998 - longer than some prison sentences for murder (hee hee, just kidding). I have to have complete faith that they will approve us, because our relationship is a genuine as it gets - otherwise what kind of system is this? I love my husband and our plans are for me to move my daughter to Edmonton so that she can start school in September with as little interruption to life as possible, so if Will doesnt get his visa, I will "cry, scream, swear, rant" and then begin plans to find a place in the US where we can be together and he can get a job and so can I.... because this move is to make our lives better, and that cna only be accomplished if we are together... and I guess it doesnt matter which county we live in.

We have discussed it and here's my husband's answer if he has to have an interview...

First, I would appeal the decision, as we are in a genuine and loving marriage. If the appeal failed, I would apply to immigrate to Canada under the federal skilled worker program, although that would be devastating to us because it takes 5 years through Accra and we would likely be to old to have children at that time. If that did not go through, we would wait until her children are adults and self-sufficient at which point she would move to Nigeria to live with me.

I completely agree, I think that the interview signals moving in to the final stage... so YIPPEE for you guys.. You are right, just be honest. I think also if she cant answer something she should explain why she doesnt think that she can... But if you guys review your information prior to the interview I am sure that you will do fine.

:D

Ha ha i copied a list off this forum of questions they may ask,she wanted me to put the answers next to the questions so she can study.I told her just ask the best to your knowledge if something they ask you do not know an answer to just explain why.But she is always stressed about things like this she was freaking when she called to tell me about the letter. She is a funny girl. They did tell her that if she likes the interview can be done in Portugeese so that will make it easier on her.
There is not alot on this forum for her to refer to as there is not a lot of people going through Sao Paulo.
But im getting very excited now.

God Heather you know we have exciting lives sitting her on a forum when there is no work here tomorrow CANADA DAY tomorrow.

AHHH I can never forget Canada Day because it is my husbands birthday as well. Because I am in the US everything is open here, and will be closed on Monday the 5th in observance of the holiday on the 4th. I took tomorrow and Friday off so that we could camp over the holiday weekend so even though it isnt a federal holiday I am still taking vacation. I am ready for a break so it should be fun. Fireworks and Patriotism are easy to celebrate, no mater where you are.

Sometimes I think that this forum is an indication of how much I have going on, when I look forward to seeing what my forum buddies have to say!!!

We had to think about what we would do also and then it happened. LOL.. Before we were rejected we thought what if we didnt get the visa, then what. I have kids here that live with me, and parents that are not well. I am the oldest so I feel responsible to my parents even thought i have three other siblings. My ex will not allow the kinds to leave the country and I can understand that so there was really only one way for us and that was appeal. THank GOD we won it! I had no choice but win if I wanted to be with my husband. Anyways so far the process is moving along but snail pace.

My advice to you Iarblue on the interview thing. They look for the person being interviewed to speak with out hesitation about their relationship. I guess if you hesitate then they think you are trying to think quick on your feet to make something up. Being honest and speaking from the heart is very necessary and be calm and confident. hopefully your wife will have a nice IO that she can feel comfortable with. I am sure she is feeling alot of pressure for the interview. Good luck :)

My case is relatively simple: I would live in China with my wife if her visa (and subsequent appeal) were denied. But if I had to live in Canada, and she was stuck in China, I would petition my member of parliament, appeal to the media, write letters to the Minister's office -- generally make such a nuisance of myself that they would prefer to give her the silly visa and make me go quietly.

Well if we were refused it's simple since my wife and me talked about it. I would go with her in the USA. Not that i like the idea since i prefer my good old Canada but my wife is more important than a country.

He would have to join me in the United States.. but I feel sympathy for everyone with children in the situation which would make joining their spouse in the other country impossible.

Did they call her on the phone or did they send a letter for the interview?
