This year was an exception, and don't expect first cum first serve to last, it was only 7 mins till 27K is filled, there was a law suit against this process this year so next year it will be back as lottery most likely, and next year expect to have more sponsors vying for the spots as they have admitted huge number of express entry PRs over the last few years, almost everyone will want to sponsor parents

And once again as been noted numerous times before, sponsoring ones parents is not guaranteed, and who ever comes into power in the fall can modify or reduce the allotment
