Right here's the thing I currently live in the uk and i have been here for about 3 years. My mum is married to a canadian and last year she just got a visa as a permanent resident and moved there.
Now, i am currently applying for a family class visa to canada. My mum is sponsoring me and my stepdad is a co-sponsor. The papers was sent to missisauga by feb 20. March 20 they've got a reply that the sponsorship has been approved and they have sent the papers to manila and the latter has to be process there because it is my country of origin.

Now I have so many questions about it..and I do need your help.
1) why is it being process in manila if i live in the uk?
2) How is it differ from spouse or common-law visa?
3) If the visa is granted how on earth can they have my passport if i am in the uk? Should i come to philippines first?

Please I need some professional help coz i am really worried.

Pre-Assessed..
1. When they sponsored you, they could pick what country it goes through. They could have asked to have it processed in the UK if you are legal there on some kind of visa but they opted to have it processed in your country of citizenship.
2. It's a PR visa, it's pretty much the same thing, only the application is a bit different. Couples have to prove their relationships but your mother doesn't have to prove that she is your mother, that is pretty easy.
3. You can mail your passport there to get the visa in it.

My question is why wasn't she included as dependent on the application for the Mother as dependent. There is something missing here. If she didn't have a medical, then she is no longer a member of the family class.

Right.. Thanks.
I did have my medicals and everything. It was done in london.
I have a permanent resident visa in the uk.
I just don't get tha point of processing the application in manila.

In the letter from the canadian embassy it actually states that they have all the right to take the processing in manila.
I suppose we cannot ask them to do it here in london.

What will happen now?

Your mother would have had the right to pick processing either in Manila or the UK. For some reason she chose Manila. Maybe she made a mistake but it's probably a bigger hassle trying to get it transferred now than to just go with it. Manila will let you know what to do.
