I would like to say thanks to all of you who read and wish me luck. I was interviewed today and after an hour and a half she just said she will give me my landing papers next week! She told me I answered the right things she wants to hear.. Oh my.. now I know the feeling of hundreds of others whose visa was approved. Now I have my tears of joy.

Just for recap: I am sponsored within Canada, no legal status, submitted my application 2008, from Vegrivelle it was transferred to Ottawa and to our local office, Ottawa wrote to me that I might wait for 2 to 3 years but Lo and behold i waited only for 1 year.

Kessa..

What kind of questions did she ask? Or are the questions too personal to go into on this blog?

Oh Mint thanks a lot.I know you will be like me just wait and be patient.

rupeshhari -Eric Parker- thanks.

The interview questions kind of tricky. She wrote all the answers I gave to her. She asked me about my first meeting with my hubby, did i work, all the questions are just family related.. and the tricky part is if I want to live away from the place where i live now. Most of the answers she told me would be centered on what the sponsored dreams would be when they get their visa. I answered I want to stay where my hubby is. She then said "okay you are just stuck with each other". She then gave me my health papers to be presented to the ministry of health for OHIP.

I don't know what to say but this was my question on this forum a week ago if after the interview I will know the result right there and then.
When the lady interviewed me she told us that the decision will not be on that day but I have to wait. Then she suddenly said " Yes, you are approved and you have to be landed next week. Wow, we were stunned.
Back to the questions.. it is just a repeat of what I have written on my application. They are just trying to see if you can still remember all the things you have written there. She asked me about what day we are supposed to be together my hubby said oh 2008 and i said 2007 gosh in my mind what is he thinking?I gently said we can't be approved if we are together on 2008 hon..but the lady looked at me and i said maybe he meant that statutory declaration that was signed by the court. She shifted her gaze and she tried to look for that paper in my file..wheew she said yes it is here.

Ok I would be glad to share more but right now I have to rest. Thanks a lot.

Thanks a lot! yes it is very nice to read good news... just when I almost lost hope like the idea of waiting for three years then the interview came. I would like to thank ROBSLUV too. I went to cic website a while ago and on my status it says decision made and my letter was sent on the date I was interviewed.

I was also told by the interviewer ( she is very nice) that I will be refunded of my work permit fee. I paid it together with my application and she said if I will wait for that it will take 3 months and she would already give my PR next week.

congrats Kessa,

wish you all the best in your life with your husband but could you please share from which country you belong, because it took more than two months to refuse my application after interview and you got approved same day i still couldn't understand the rules and regulations and the basic procedures the way they do assessment. thanks

Hello smart_saqib143,

I was also surprised that after the interview she told me I passed when she told me earlier before the interview I will wait for the result maybe a month or two. I just answered here thruthfully as I can. She asked me if I have another set of pictures, rent, bank or anything new that hasn't been seen yet. I came well prepared and provided more of what she asked for. There's one thing she told my hubby that what he did like going to Thailand to see me is a big factor already. I told her that I am still old fashion at heart as I want him to meet my family, friends etc before I will also see what is Canada.
I think I am lucky. You just don't know how many people prayed over with me the church, close friends etc to guide my words..
take care.

Hello rich_m0nd,

Yes don't lose hope. If you have new things to show to them update the office. My timeline was this:

April 2008 -submitted my application

November 2008- transferred to Ottawa

July 22-2009-Transferred to my local office and sent a letter of request for an interview. But it was postponed due to airconditioning malfunction

July 31- interviewed and approved. I will be landed this week. I was given a paper to give to Ministry of Health.

And pls contact your MP you never know how it will change the course of your waiting time.
