You'll get the full, official instructions from CIC after you submit your passport (or copy of) and get the COPR mailed to you. The instructions will be in a letter along with the COPR which will tell you the options to activate your PR status, including the option mf4361 explained. Congrats.
That means that I have to leave Canada and re-enter Canada??? I live in Canada I should go to USA? I don't have US Visa! How long they give you to re-enter Canada the COPR has a expiry date?

You don't need to have US Visa for doing this landing. Please just to Rainbow bridge and go to US Border and just tell them that you came there for "Flag Pole". They will verify your passports and give you a slip. That you have to submit on the Canada Border Immigration Officers who will take all your documents and guide you for the next steps. For more, please go through the below link.

Good luck :)

Yes, you have to technically "enter" Canada. Without leaving, you can't enter Canada.

you can head to US border, tell the US border officer you are flagpoling, then they will direct you to the Canada side and complete the process there. You don't need US visa to do that. (I did that myself even I do have and presented my US visitor visa)

Or if you live far away from the border, you can make appointment with CIC (you will get instructions in CoPR letter)

CoPR is usually valid for 6 months or until medical expires (although for some reason mine has 9 months to it with an extension of medical. Didn't really matter, went to the border next day)

I found this and guess is a list of offices for landing?
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/offices/help.asp#bc

I'm planning to schedule an appointment in office too, going to border is so complicated to me since I don't drive.

Thanks for posting this. I am confused as well. And thanks to those who answers. It ended up in my promotion category by gmail. And the long email name looks like scam.

Dear All,

I also got an email from this strange looking email id. What made me more skeptical that the email mentions that I should submit my passport to VFS Centre in Islamabad (Pakistan). I am an Indian residing in UAE so not sure why I got this email.

The email id I received it from was <IRCC.CPCO-FinalRequest-CTDO-DemandeFinale.IRCC@cic.gc.ca> andthe content was as follows:

It mentioned my correct application number.

This is in reference to your application for permanent residence. To finalize your application, we require:

1) Passports

  • Please provide passports or travel documents for yourself and each accompanying dependant, along with a copy of this letter, to the visa office in Islamabad. Please see the VFS Visa Application Centre (Pakistan) website for details on how to transmit your passports to the Canadian High Commission: http://www.vfsglobal.ca/Canada/Pakistan/.
  • Please note that permanent resident visas cannot be placed in Diplomatic, Official or Military passports.
  • There must be at least two blank pages in each passport.
  • We are unable to issue a visa beyond the expiry date in your passport. You passport must be valid for at least six months.

2) Photographs

Should any of the following circumstances apply to you (or any person included in your application), you must inform this office immediately:

· Change in marital status, for example due to marriage, divorce, annulment or death;

· Death of applicant, dependant of sponsor/assisting relative;

· Birth of a child and/or pregnancy (please provide expected date of confinement);

· The laying of criminal charges or conviction for a criminal offence;

· A change in availability of funds for use in Canada;

· Change of address or phone number

4) Submitting your passport(s) in Canada (CPC-O)

If you and all the accompanying dependents on your application are currently in Canada and plan to be in Canada for at least three months, you may submit your passport(s) to the Case Processing Centre – Ottawa (“CPC-O”). You are required to send your passport(s) together along with a copy of this letter by mail or courier to the following address.

If sent by regular mail or Canada Post Xpresspost (recommended option)

  • Make a note of tracking numbers for each envelope.

  • Enclose both envelopes along with your passport and a copy of this letter.

Check with CIC helpline. Saw some threads indicating country of origin entered different. Better get it sorted at the earliest than later.

Thank you for your prompt reply. I mainly got confused because the email asked me to submit my passport in Pakistan and I am neither a resident nor a citizen of Pakistan. This kind of error is very rare.

can you also tell me if this mean my application is approved or there is still any chance of rejection? I have another doubt, how many days typically it takes for the embassy to return the passport after stamping? I have travel plans in 4.5 weeks (can't be postponed, its my sister's wedding) and I am afraid of not getting my passport back in time. I am planning to submit a letter to expedite the process along with my documents to VFS. Not sure it will help.

I got my passport back in 10 calendar days, as there were 2 holidays in between. A friend of mine got it in 7 days. But since your situation is different to mine, can't be sure. But not definitely 4 weeks. It's approved though. BG has been cleared.

Hi All,

We submitted our passports one week backt o VFS centre, Dubai. VFS tracking number keeps on showing that it is under processing at Abu Dhabi Visa office. We have one confusion:

My husband who was dependent applicant (as I am primary applicant) has changed his job recently so his old visa which is on passport has been cancelled although it does not bear any cancellation stamp.. We are confused if we should inform the Abu Dhabi Visa Processing office of Canada about his job change or not.

The main problem is we are in a hurry to get our passports back as my husband has his new visa from the new company but it is temporary and needs to be processed within one month which can not be done without passports. We fear, If we will provide this new information it may further delay the processing. We submitted our passports one week back and the VFS tracking number keeps on showing that it is under processing at Abu Dhabi Visa office.

Any advice?

Normal turn around time for Visa stamping is 10 days. But, this depends on the work load at the VO concerned.

Regarding the question of new job and the passport, I would recommend checking with @legalfalcon . He is experienced on this more than me.

Hi all!

I got the Golden Email today...YAAY! The problem is that it doesn't give me any specifications on where should I send my passport to :( This is the step 4 message:

STEP 4: SUBMIT YOUR DOCUMENTS

All required documents must be submitted in one single package.

In order for us to return your documents, you must provide our office with a pre-paid airway bill ( a prepaid envelope from an international courier service company such as DHL, UPS, Fedex, etc.) Please ensure that the courier company used has service available in Mexico.

Your visa(s) will expire on XXXXX. If the validity of your passport or the passport of any accompanying family member expires before this date, your visa will expire at this earlier date. If it is the case, that person may wish to apply for a new passport. Please note that you must travel to Canada within the validity of your visa.

We are looking forward to receiving your package within 30 days to conclude your application for permanent residence in Canada.

Hi all,

I just received the golden e-mail yesterday night (PPR), thanks god.

BUT,

It seems they didn't filled the important informations like dates and place :

Your application for permanent residence in Canada has reached the final stage of processing. You must submit your passport(s) to [add the visa office], within [add number of days] of the date of this letter in order to finalize your application.

Please include a copy of this letter with your submission.

Please read carefully all information and instructions set out below and complete the steps accordingly. Your application will be finalized at [add visa office]. If you have any questions after reading the information and instructions, please contact this office, by following the instructions on their website: [add the link to the visa office webpage]

The complete e-mail is like a generic one, only general informations and no specific dates or places.

Did anyone received e-mail like that ? How to get the missing infos ? What to do ?
