Hello everybody!
What happened? Well, I am late with filing my tax papers. With all the hassle and difficulty I have never gotten around doing it. The story started when I applied and got a Working Holiday Visa for 2010. I entered Canada in december 2010.
I stayed in Vancouver for a month. After that I went to the Yukon where I stayed there the rest of the year. (2011) I had three sources of income:
1 As a laborer working for an oil transportation company. (1 month)
2 As a soil sampler for mining exploration. (4 months)
3 I got injured at that last job, so I received compensation from the Yukon Workers' Compensation Health and Safety Board.
The two jobs netted me quite a bit of money in only a few months, the rest of the year I didn't work. I was told I was going to get a big tax return for that. However when I returned to Holland in 2012, in all the hassle I never filed my taxes.
I have started to look into it now, but I am way over my head. You can imagine it's quite a bit different from the Dutch Taxing system. I know nobody here who can help. So I am left with only one option: Ask for help here. ;D In all the hassle, I have no papers left from that period.
My questions to get me started are these: What papers do I need? What are the names of the papers? Do I need anything else to start filing my tax papers?
Very much appreciated, Martijn.
