I desperately need my passport back from Can Emb Manila

I had my interview at Canadian Embassy in Manila for spousal sponsorship on Aug. 19th, and haven't heard back from them. since then They have my passport since Apr 28th, and I need the passport to write the IELTS exam and to make a quick trip to Hong Kong. Can I request to have my passport back before DM? Why did the embassy hold on to my passport for so long (5 months)? Anyone has such experience with the Embassy in Manila before?

Hi, It is ridiculus that the Manila visa office is holding your passport for more than 4-1/2 months with them. Any how you have always the privilage to ask your pasport back for any reason. So, in addition to sending any other mode of request to manila office, you should send a Case Specific Enquiry also to mention your urgent need for the passport. Perhaps you will get the PP with the visa.
