I am having lot of questions in mind like,
How long PR is valid and Is it compulsion we need citizenship?
Where I can get the information like this?
This may be a silly question at this stage. Please provide the information.
Thanks
Dear with so many Ks....PR stands for PERMANENT RESIDENCY. Once acquired, u can live and work in Canada in any part of it. Citizenship is the next stage..meaning CANADIAN PASSPORT. With Permanent residency, one is recognized as an Immigrant and with Citizenship, becomes Citizen of Canada / Canadian. While being in Canada only, u can not vote unless citizen. Except that right, rest remains same.
PR remains valid for 5 years from the date of landing. For renewal, u need to be personally residing in Canada for atleast two (2) years out of five years to become eligible for renewal of residency for next five years. For citizenship, 1095 days should be spent (out of five years of PR) to apply for Canadian passport. It is not necessary to spend 1095 days but after every five years, u will be appying for renewal of PR with applicable conditions.
