Ola1974 can you please share some of the strong points you raised in your second SOP that made it possible to convince them on your employment status, length of visit, personal asset and financial status?

I got promotion before they decided on the first refusal and the differential payment made in respect of the promotion swell up my deposit to the region of $32k usd. Then my total asset declared is in the region of $190k usd. That is all.

I do not have problem in that regard, after my 1st trip to Uk I think they expect me to have made another trip or have 2 yrs visa which would re-assure them that if I shld have 2 yrs visa in uk I will have gone there to stay. I have 2 kids & my spouse, u can see I have home tie. Let me take my family to uk for summer & try January wether it will work or what do u see to that

I didn't know about you previous travels. Yeah if you can afford and willing to do that, then I'd say go for it. I like to imagine from other person's point of view and thinking from the VO's perspective, I'd day since you are 40 and have pretty decent bank balance + assets and stuff, you should have made few foreign trips. Work, leisure... any kind. They just want to see that you didn't try to over stay and have returned back to Nigeria on time.
Now it may sound absurd but maybe they thought you're having what they call mid-life crisis. You know, like after having a good experience in your field and a good pay slip, you all of a sudden want to get a diploma from Canada. Gives an impression that you're searching for new life and will most probably try to get PR. Having a not so good travel record, you want to study in a different country for a year or maybe more.

Well that's just my thinking, you may or you may not agree with me.

I feel sorry for that I can suggest you to change your destination to us or Australia. Vo using there powers excessively to refuse those who deserves more. They just making there personal assumption hence canada sp becomes matter of luck even strong profile can't guarantee a visa.

Yeah Ola thanks for the reply on how you managed to overcome the hurdle of personal assert and final status in your second application. However will be delighted if you can shed more light on how you overcome that of the issues of employment situation and that of length of visit in your second application. I also agree with you that you need some kind of break from the forum to refresh your strategies for the future. But remember the golden rule of never give up because your victory is still waiting for you around the corner.
