I applied to extend my student permit before it expires, i finished my studies, i applied for PGWP but no answer for my studies permit, can i work ?

Update :
Both of my studie permit extension and pgwp got approved today
I received corresponding letter for both and after 30 min i checked again and i found status turned to approved
I called IRCC they told me now i gotta wait for the papers to arrive my mail go to canada service , update my Social security number, i can start working

Hey, I have the approval for my study permit extension this november 5th, and I finished my studies in August. Even though I have applied on April, they only gave me the approval months after finishing college. The expiration date is for november 30th. So, what if I do not receive the physical copy before it expires? how can I renew my SIN number and be allowed to work?

So let me understand you applied for your PGWP after you got the approval for your permit extension. if that's the case you have the right to work because you have a valid student status, just wait a bit and you should normally receive and EXT-WP letter that allows you to work, if not reach for the IRCC in order to confirm.
for the Sin you are allowed to work with your old one till you receive the physical copy , but again you can confirm with the IRCC

My original Permit expired on July 30th.
I finished my Program on August 9th.
I received my letter of completion on September 6th. I stopped working since then.
I am still waiting for my Study Permit Extension. My question is How much time do I have to apply for PGWP and which would be the date to start counting? Some people say 90 days others 180 days?
I would appreciate any insights about these. This time have been nerve-racking. Please, help!

Yeah! I just received the WP-EXT for PGWP yesterday saying that I can work. Just not sure if I need to renew my SIN number before get back to work. If yes, I need to wait for the physical copy to renew it.

You can work with the same SIN till you get the approval and get the physical copy there you can renew the SIN , for now you can work with no issues
Normally its 90 days, since you will not able to work anyway I would advice you to just apply for the PGWP right now, as the handling time for PGWP is over 150 days now, if you receive the answer for the study permit extension before the PGWP you can call the IRCC and inform them so they can update your info to receive the EXT - WP letter

Normally she should have received EXT when you applied for study permit extension and with that she is able to work till the IRCC make a decision for your study permit even if the date on her EXT letter expires she can still work with the same permit and same SSN
Yes. He has been doing that but if I apply for PGWP in an implied status, what would his situation be? I cannot information in the IRCC website about his situation. Is he going to be able to work while I’m going to be waiting for the PGWP to be approved? We have two daughters, how are we supposed to pay our bills if none of us would be able to work until receive PGWP (more than 150 days) I’m so desperate
