I applied to extend my student permit before it expires, i finished my studies, i applied for PGWP but no answer for my studies permit, can i work ?

Yes asking my Lawyer was the first i did, and he said i can not work, after i checked with the school responsible for internationals students, she did have an answer right away, but she came to me saying the same thing that i can not work till one of status is approved, after that i reach for the IRCC and again same answer

On maintained status, you cannot work, until your PGWP application is approved. To be eligible to work, you should have waited until you received the extension results.

i am still waiting W: SC July 6. i am very depressed, why they are not processing. Is there something wrong with my documents.

My name is Saima. I read the conversations. I am going through the same situation. I applied for my study permit extension on May 16, 2024, and I completed my study on August 25, 2024. On August 27, 2024, I applied for PGWP, UCI, and Biometrics, which have been updated, but I have not gotten any decision since then. I talked to the lawyer as well. She said you cannot work. I also talked with 3 IRCC agents, all of whom gave me the same answer.
Have you received anything since then?

Nothing, I am checking my application every single day, it’s showing, we are processing your application, I tried to call IRCC help line number, but they are disconnecting my call, what to do next I don’t understand.

Based on what i saw on some other threads the process now takes like 6 to 7 months, i am looking at the end of December or January

and there is nothing that we can do as nothing can make the process goes faster

Indeed, so how you are able to survive here i m depressed. How you r paying for rent and groceries? I have an agency which gives work on cash in vaughan side. If you need assistance just let me know.

Well I was about to go homeless a month ago where i was no longer able to pay rent if not for a friend who is helping me but that will not last,

There is nothing i can do.

I am in a far place called Val-d'or in QC, if there is any help that i can get that would be much appreciated
