I am new permanent resident of canada , landed on 5 th June 2022, I have a ticket to go USA for 6 days starting from July 13. Not yet receivedPR card. How can I come back from USA on July 19 to canada ? They say you need to have PR card with you while traveling back to Canada from abroad. Even they don’t give travel document.I am in problem .

You need to tell us your nationality / what passport you hold.

I am a Nepali citizen and hod passport of Nepal. Additionally, before I git PR status, I had a visit visa which is still valid and the authority had not crossed it while providing PR visa to me on my passport. May I use that visit visa while coming back to canada fromUSA ?

You cannot use the visit visa to fly to Canada when you return. It's no longer valid now that you are a PR. If you are returning by airplane, then you need either a valid PR card or valid PR Travel Document to be allowed to board the plane. If you don't have either of these, then you would need to cross at a US/Canada land border using a private vehicle. You can do this with just your COPR.

Thank you so much, additionally, can you please send me the link which states traveling with private vehicle is allowed to enter Canada if I have Copr with me. I guess copr is a paper that I received from immigration while landing ?

I don't have the link. This topic is discussed extensitvely in the PR Obligation section of the forum.

Normally how long they take to issue first PR card? Somebody said it would arrive to stipulated address within a month ? If so my problem would be solved as I landed on June 5, and intend to leave canada on July 13.
