Hi ,Hi All,
I have valid work permit and visa, i working in Toronto, me and my wife staying together and she have valid work permit . my wife is pregnant now..,
what happens my child born in Canada?
Is it Risk ?
Please advise me...
No they are Canadian.Hello everyone
Please answer my below question.
Me and my wife are on valid work permits here in Canada , my wife was pregnant when we got our ITA for PR back in April 2020. We can’t mention a child until child is born so we processed our application without mentioning about the child and only the x ray was deferred. Now that child is born here in Canada and X-ray has also been completed for my wife , do we need to add our child to PR application ?
Hello,Hi ,
I am on a work permit and we have a baby born in April. we asked a birth certificate after the registration in Montreal Registration office. We did the canadian passport at 4 months. We have travelled to US and he did not receive a stamp cause he is canadian.
He has a permanent SIN.
For the quebec medical insurance he has a card with an expiration date same as our work permit.
I have asked my PR with my Quebec Experience and not cause i have a canadian baby.
Okay few things ...Hi ,
I am working in TCS with work permit.
I am pregnant and also I have applied for pr and biometrics completed recently.
I would like to know if my employer would allow me to stay in Canada or would cancel my work permit?
I just want to know before discussing with my employer.
Can anyone help me with this.
Don't think most would call EI mat leave substantial. Most have to plan and save in order to live on the reduced income.Okay few things ...
0. Congrats on your to be born child. We had similar happiness one and a half year back. Oh and a lot of sleepless nights, be ready for them too.
1. Your employer CANNOT cancel a work permit OR allow or disallow you to stay in Canada and can only impact your job BUT... there are implication of losing your job (I will come to that more in further points) that you must understand.
1.a If your PR application is based on a PNP, in some cases loss of job may mean loss of PNP and loss of PR application.
1.b If you lose your job AND you are on closed work permit, you can still STAY while your work permit (LEGALLY) is valid BUT avoid travelling out of Canada on that closed work permit as you may be denied entry.
2. Removing from job based purely on pregnancy or forcing a transfer during pregnancy *MAY* be considered against labor laws. I doubt a major company like TCS will even try anything like that
3. Whats more, you (possibly your husband/partner too) may be legally entitled for pregnancy leave while on EI benefits. This is paid by srevice Canada and not your employer. The payment may not be same as your salary but it is substential. I did not avail it because I had my parents here who helped me a lot but it is an option too.
Learn about labor laws of Canada and your province. Relax about immigration part and work permit, you are safe in that regards. Just verify when your work permit is due for renewal.
Oh one last thing.... When the little one is born, there is one small technicality you MUST remember. Since you mentioned TCS, I am assuming you are Indian, like I am. If not, please pardon me. When you little one is born (assuming in Canada), get the their birth certificate BUT refrain from applying for Canadian passport. India can give your little one their Indian Citizenship if you don't apply for Canadian passport. Ask the embassy. While Canada also considers them a Canadian citizen and will even allow them to enter Canada with just their birth certificate... Till they turns 18, they will effectively be a dual citizen. I forgot this and now my son is a purely Canadian citizen with an OCI. Give it a thought before you apply for your little one's Canadian passport.
Thank you so much for your detailed information. It is helpful.Okay few things ...
