You just re-posted the exact info from the link I provided.
As I said, LMIA exemptions are not common, and the most typical one is if you qualify under a NAFTA qualifying job. Other than that, none of the other exemptions will be of any use to the OP.
No, actually I got it from this link: https://www.canadianimmigration.net/work-permit/lmo-exemption.html :D

This CIC-M inland delay has freaked her out though. When I applied I was expecting a 6 month wait time for a work permit and maybe 10 for full PR. I'm at 12 months and havent even had my file opened yet, so she fears it will still be years until I get my PR. Her mom told her horror stories of some applicants who got lost in the system and have been waiting for 4 years. All of this is working against me.
It is disappointing to hear that she cannot handle the wait. Solid long relationships are hard. Need to support each other through thick and thin. If she is willing to throw it all away because of some immigration wait, then maybe this is someone you need to move on from?

And her mom is not helping the situation. It sounds like she does not "have your back". Misrepresentation is most often discovered when someone reports something. Lots of time it is is a disgruntled relative. Something to think about if you still plan on trying to land while separated...

NAFTA is probably the best bet for me. I would look for a job in Graphic Design as that is the qualification I actually have from my studies. If I could find an employer in that field who would be willing to hire me, what do THEY have to do to get me approved? Are we looking them spending 1k+ from paperwork and whatnot? Or do they simply just have to write a letter on my behalf? How does this all work?

If the job and your credentials fall under NAFTA, then your employer doesn't really need to do anything except give you a formal employment offer. Then you would take the offer, and proof of your credentials (i.e. degree/diploma in the field) and I believe you can just go to any USA land border to apply for and get the necessary work permit on the spot. You may also need to show proof of having a valid medical exam done.

I'm not certain on all the specifics involved, so best to post any NAFTA work question to this part of the forum: http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/foreign-workers-b10.0/

Yes, you are right....
just recently someone wrote a post about a poison letter in the notes that the person got...

no need to go though that.... maybe he is right when trying to find different options....
but need to be realistic and think that he may need to go back home....
