I am from germany do I need a visa to enter / flagpole to USA?

Hi,
I got my confirmation of PR!
I am in Canada!
I am planning to go to the USA border and do the flagpole thing

I don't think I need a visa to enter USA as a german?
but just want to make sure!

anybody did this this year? experience? any border can do that?

No you don't need visa to enter usa. And even if you need one you just tell the american border agent that you want to flagpole. He will give you admin refusal (wont affect future entry to usa) and sent you back to cbsa officer for landing as PR.

If you want to just flagpole then you shouldn't need anything, that's my understanding.

My husband is German as well and when activated his IEC visa, we decided to actually enter the states for the day, shop a bit and then come back. So in that case he needed his ESTA visa, and had to be sent into the US office to get a $6 Visa Waiver put into his passport. So if you actually want to cross into the States, I imagine it would be the same for you.

I answered your question in the other thread you posted it in.

if you are in canada, you have to either go to the border to flagpole (or take a trip to the us and return), call a local CIC office for an appointment (this can take weeks or months), or fly out then back into canada.

No, you can't just go to an airport and land as a pr. you have to actually be coming in on a flight and go through immigration. it is impossible to enter immigration if you are not entering the airport by plane.
