Hello folks, I am passive member of the forum. But looks like I hit a unique spot to write a post.

I graduated in 2019 from Canadian university and started job as part-time Software Developer with 30+ hours a week. Continued this job for next 3 months. And, I started my full time job 9 months ago. As I did 30+hours a week in my part-time job, is it safe to consider it as full-time experience. Does this 3 month (part-time) + 9 month full-time job add up-to 1 year of required Canadian experience?

Or, should I just wait for next 3 months to complete my 1-year full-time job experience with my current employer?

did you have PSW in those 3 months? If yes then as long as you had 30+ hours a week you are good.

If it was part time job you can only count 15 hours / week.

This is how you do the calculation to determine if you have a year of work experience. Note that you can only could work experience you gained after you submitted your PGWP application. Also note that working 30 hours or more is considered full time.

Here's the calculation
- For each week you worked 30 hours or more, count it as one full time week (it doesn't matter if you worked 30 hours or 40 hours or 90 hours).
- For each week you worked fewer than 30 hours, add up all of the hours and divide by 30
- Add the two above numbers together. If you have at least 52, then you have a year of work experience.

Thank you so much! This is very helpful.

@navinball Thanks, I will make sure I include that.
