Hello everyone

I am a counselling psychologist and want to apply for immigration to Canada. i'd appreciate advices on whether I am eligible and how do i proceed.Thank you in advance.

You would need an offer of employment to come as a skilled worker. This would be almost impossible to obtain, since it is a regulated profession and you would need Canadian credentials before you could work. Your best bet would be to come as a student - in some provinces a PhD is required to practice under the title of psychologist.

Thanks....I have a PhD Degree in psychology...will that be accepted in Canada?

you will have to go through a credentials assessment an a bridging program... these are done at the provincial level, go here for ontario info

If you have PHd Degree, You can teach in College or University.

You can apply any of the NOC, if you have at lease 1 year experience as a teacher

NOC: 4121 University Professor
NOC: 4131 College and Vocational Trainers

I didn't say it wouldn't count, I said that you would have to go through the credentials assessment and bridging programs, regardless of the experience you have. Even with that, it will be difficult to demonstrate to Canadian employers that (for example) your career counseling experience will have relevance in Canada. Not saying it can't be done, but be prepared for challenge...

You can get the credentials assessment done before you do anything else. That will give you some idea of how your education and experience will be evaluated in Canada before you invest too much time and money in the immigration application... Recommend you have it done in the province where you think you want to live...
