Hello everyone,

I have a quick question and I would appreciate if someone would put my mind at ease. I sent my application on 16th Jan, and processing started on 12th Apr. Medical exams were requested on 23rd May. My question is, does the medical exam request mean that my application has been approved in principle? Or, do they need my medical results before they issue the approval in principle?

Thanks for your reply.

Be happy its a positive but routine sign unless they already have you updated medical reports

Indeed, Medical request means that your application is more or less in order. Let's hope your Medical Exam also goes well.

Thanks you both. I appreciate your responses. Now I can start counting days. Once I have the AIP the removal order against me will be put on hold. Does anyone know how long it takes to receive the AIP in the mail once cic get the medical results?

Yes. I applied in the humanitarian and compassionate category. This is my timeline so far.

Jan 16, 2014: Application received
March 12: Started processing
May 23: Medical examination requested by email
June 2: AIP received in mailbox

There must be a God somewhere! I thought this application was going to years to process, but it's almost done in few months. Let me encourage you all who may be in the same situation as I was in: miracles still happen.
